Taking more than a decade to perfect, HAV is a new porcelain collection created in close collaboration with architect Bjarke Ingels, industrial designer Lars Holme Larsen, and design philosopher Jens Martin Skibsted. HAV is deeply embedded in the tradition of Royal Copenhagen, while also reaching towards the future - a collection for the timeless now.

HAV is designed in collaboration with Danish design trio KiBiSi founded by Lars Holme Larsen, Bjarke Ingels, and Jens Martin Skibsted, bringing together cutting-edge knowledge of fields such as architecture, design, transportation, and electronics. Though the three partners have now ventured into separate projects, the collaborative has remained for the completion of HAV for Royal Copenhagen.

"Because the future begins with the past, we wanted to work with Royal Copenhagen's historic palette of materials and aesthetics and then pull it in new directions for HAV."
A central source of inspiration for
HAV lies in the many references to the Danish ocean found in shapes and decorations of Royal Copenhagen porcelain through centuries. Hav is the Danish word for 'ocean'.
HAV is purposefully simple, elegant and – despite its modernity – radiates exclusivity. It is a multifunctional porcelain collection made to be used by everyone and for all purposes. The subtle fish scale ornamentations are cut to a minimum, serving a function, stimulating the senses.
We must care for things for us to want them in our lives – appreciate the emotions and sensations those things bring to our lives. Almost as if our love for them is what gives them longevity.
HAV is the result of a dream to create something that is both materially and aesthetically sustainable over time.
